Born and raised in Tāmaki Makaurau, Sean’s tūrangawaewae is Te Tai Tokerau where he learned to swim, ride and hunt on his Grandmother’s farm in Takahue, just south of Kaitaia. 

A keen outdoorsman - deer hunting or chasing the elusive Sika in the Kaimanawa Ranges along with a small aluminium boat called “Tease Me’ gets Sean, wife Jo and their two daughters’ out on the Hauraki Gulf fishing, freediving and camping in remote places.

Making things with wood and learning languages is another past time.
Sean is currently learning Te Reo Maori. 

Looking for a martial art combining fitness, discipline and a challenge to thinking, Sean found aikido at 49 years young. Sean continues his aikido journey, balancing training with his job as Strategic Project Manager.
